DrawDog for Mac.
A small app that lives in your menu bar. Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 12 Monterey or later.
First run
- Open the disk image and drag DrawDog to Applications.
Then open it from Applications. It appears in your menu bar, not the Dock.
Early build: macOS may say DrawDog is from an unidentified developer. That’s because this build isn’t yet notarized with Apple. To open it once: right-click the app in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. After that it opens normally. - Read what it can see.
Before anything is recorded, the app shows you the app it can currently see in front, and the exact record it would write for a file. Nothing is watched until you say so.
- Pick a folder and start.
Choose the folder you work in. Save as you normally would. When you stop, the app shows the grade and — once you’ve signed in — a Certify button that gives you the link.
Permissions
It asks for nothing scary.
DrawDog needs only to read the folder you choose. It doesn’t request accessibility access, screen recording, or input monitoring — the permissions keyloggers and screen recorders need — because it doesn’t do those things. What it records, exactly.
